Dear Patients,
Happy Summer! As I complete my fifteenth year of private
practice (a point in time that I always envisioned would represent the halfway
mark of my career, but admittedly this is still to be determined), I would like
to share with you all a change that I believe will be of mutual benefit going
forward.
Starting August 1st, Team Fung will be adding its own dedicated
nurse practitioner, Quynhly Nguyen. Quynhly is a graduate of Logan High School
in Union City and Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. After working for four years as
a medical assistant at Silicon Valley Dermatology in San Jose, she recently
earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Simmons University in Boston. Please
join me in welcoming Quynhly back home to her native East Bay!
Quynhly’s presence will allow Team Fung to see one-third
more patients on a daily basis, thereby shortening wait times to get into the
office; wait times within the office itself should improve, too, by having a
trusted colleague with keen eyes and capable hands to open and close visits as I
assume a more supervisory role. This is not so much a major philosophical shift
as it is a natural and necessary modification in practice execution, a change designed
to allow me to continue meeting the primary objective that I set for myself
when I started back in 2004: to treat every patient in the same manner that I
would treat my own family and friends. “Strength in Numbers” has been the
mantra for the Golden State Warriors over these last several years, and so it
shall be for Team Fung as well going forward!
Many of you have seen me evolve personally from being
married without children, to married with children, to married with children
and gray hair! Many of you have also seen me evolve professionally from being
the youngest member in a practice using paper charts to the oldest member in a
practice using electronic medical records. Through it all, my commitment to
providing the highest-quality patient care has never wavered, and I thank you
as always for entrusting your dermatologic care to my team and me.
Sincerely yours,
Jason F. Fung, M.D.
